GFYC Membership

Ownership of a watercraft is not a requirement of joining the Grand Forks Yacht Club. Members with motor-operated watercraft get preferential treatment and first right of refusal for all water based activities.

Unfortunately the marina was reclaimed by the majestic Red River before the Greenway Reclamation Act of 1997, so every Charity Gala and event is geared towards the rebuilding of our greatly missed marina.

With the untimely irish goodbye of the Grand Forks Yacht Club at the cusp of 2000, we have no record of former Honorees. Due to the historical record gap, we have backdated that Captain Alexander Griggs remained Honorary Captain after his death in 1903 until Y2K, until Captain Terry Dullum claimed the title in 2001.

Due to the digital nature of memberships, payments are non-refundable (as are any later purchases at events or of merchandise),. Memberships can be cancelled through the member login portal to stop any future payment.

Yes, the Grand Forks Yacht Club is an actual incorporated business. We are not however, a membership organization. Digital memberships are a subscription-based purchase that allows access to exclusive merchandise and invitation to private events. Our history on the other hand, remains debatable.
